Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick Review & Photos

Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick
Just lately Rimmel have been on top of their game with regards to exciting new product launches including the latest Only 1 Matte Lipstick Collection which accompanies their already popular original Only 1 line. So of course I had to review these as I'm already a big fan of the original collection, so here's my thoughts.

I have also reviewed two other new Rimmel products in one of my One Brand First Impression videos which I have linked down below, so keep your eyes peeled for separate reviews on the two other new launches.
Price
As per the original Only 1 Lipsticks these retail for £6.99 for 3.4g of product. The matte collection consists of nine wearable shades including a selection of nudes, deep berry's, corals and pinks.
Packaging
I totally adore the beautiful matte red packaging and I think I actually prefer this to the original black casing as this stands out a little more. I also love the fact each lipstick has a coloured band on the outside so you can see which shade is which if you have more than one. The actual lipstick has a slanted tip, which helps make the lipstick glide on with ease.
Application
Just like the originals, these are creamy, pigmented, moisturising and glide on like butter. I picked up one of the neutral shades in Trendsetter, which is a perfect medium nude shade for Winter. With regards to the finish, I would say these are more of a semi-matte finish, but I prefer this as sometimes a matte lipstick or liquid lipstick can look drying, powdery and make you look like you have crinkly lips! My only criticism with these lipsticks is the smell. The scent is quite strong and can be over-powering at times, but thankfully it doesn't linger for long.
Longevity
Unfortunately like most lipstick's this doesn't last past eating, so I do recommend re-applying after eating and taking this with you if your on the go.
Overall Thoughts
I really loved this lipstick just like the original as the formula is creamy, pigmented, glides on beautifully and comes in a wonderful selection of shades to suit everyone. The packaging is gorgeous and I think the price point justifies this collection perfectly because of the consistency and excellent colour pay off. Longevity wise this wasn't the best and the smell is quite overpowering and won't be to everyone's liking which is a shame, but if you can get past this and you're a lover of a matte lipstick that's moisturising and pigmented, then I would defiantly recommend checking these out.

I award the Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick 4.6 out of 5

Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara Review and Photos

Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara
I don't know about you but mascara is certainly something I cannot live without. I also love testing out new ones, to see if they reach my high mascara criteria! The Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara has been on my wish list forever, but finally I picked this up last month to put it to the test, so here's my thoughts.
Price
This retails for £6.99 for 9ml of product and comes in Blackest Black and Brown/Black.
Packaging
The box that the mascara comes in is eye-catching and informative which is always helpful, as sometimes it's hard to know exactly what the mascara does when you only have a name to go by.
The brush itself is rubber and slightly flat with short fine bristles and for me this is my favourite type of wand to work with, as it really gets right into the root of the lash.
Application
Upon application this mascara lengthened and separated my lashes a treat! It also built up nicely without the risk of clumps. However if you're like me and you enjoy layering different types of mascaras, this likewise makes a perfect 1st step base mascara to accompany a more thickening formula.
Longevity
I was really impressed with the longevity as I had no transfer, flakiness or smudging. My lashes also stayed lifted throughout the day too.
Overall Thoughts
For me this mascara ticked all the boxes with regards to informative packaging, the way it performed, longevity and affordability. I also love the fact that it lengthened, defined and separated my lashes thanks to the amazingly shaped brush and perfect consistency.

So if you're after a lengthening mascara that is buildable and lasts, I honestly think this worth checking out, if mascara is your thing!

I award the Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara 4.9 out of 5

MUA Power Brow Review and Photos - Benefit Ka-Brow Dupe

MUA Luxe Power Brow
With brow pomades now starting to filter in to the mass market, I wanted to test out a few to see how they compared to my beloved Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pomade. I found this cute little one from MUA and I'll be honest, the packaging sold it to me first, plus it also reminds me a lot of the new Benefit Ka-Brow but for way cheaper! So here's my thoughts.
Price
The MUA Luxe Power Brow retails for an affordable £4 for 2.2g. It also comes in an impressive six shades and is available to buy directly from the MUA website or Superdrug. I picked this up in Mid Brown.
Packaging
As I mentioned above the packaging sold this to me straight away because it's eye-catching and expensive looking. The pomade itself is surprisingly small and you don't get near as much product compared to the ABH Brow Pomade and Benefit Ka-Brow, but on the other hand I prefer this as it's also the perfect size for travel, plus it comes with a lovely angled brush too!
Application
I must admit pomades are a bit trickier to apply than your regular brow pencil, but with a little practise you'll be a pomade expert in no time! I used the handy brush that came with this, but you can also use any kind of fine eyeliner or angled brush too if you prefer something with a longer handle. You can also use the lid to wipe of any excess product if you've picked up too much.

This glided on beautifully and the colour built up well in sparse areas, just be aware as it does set pretty quickly, so just make sure you're applying this in small sections to the brow. Overall I found this gel pigmented, creamy and a great colour match for my brows.
Longevity
This does claim to be a long-wearing brow gel and that it was. For me this didn't budge all day which was great and having tested out many types of brow products, I have to say the pomade is by far my favourite longevity wise.

Overall Thoughts
This was such an impressive brow product for the price as it has the most gorgeous packaging, it's travel friendly and it's accessible. I also loved the fact this glided on beautifully and lasted so well throughout the day. Yes the pot is surprisingly minuet, but I actually preferred this as it's compact, portable and comes with a handy angled brush too. So if you've ever wanted to try a brow pomade but your budget can't quite stretch to some of the high end versions, then this a superb drugstore alternative.

I award the MUA Power Brow 4.8 out of 5
