L'Oreal False Lash Superstar X Fiber Mascara Review & Photos

L'Oreal Superstar X Fiber Mascara
Having tested out a fair few mascara's, I know what I like and what I defiantly don't. Mascara for sure comes down to personal preference as everybody has different needs and wants, but if you're like me and you love a good false lash effect mascara, then I may have found the one for you...

L'Oreal recently released a new addition to their Superstar family in the form of the X Fiber mascara, this claims to give you that false lash effect without the need for falsies, so here's my thoughts.
Price
The X Fiber mascara comes in at the top end of the drugstore scale at £10.99, however I did manage to pick this up in Boots on offer for £7.99.
Packaging
The packaging and title of this mascara defiantly caught my eye as well as the fiber aspect of this too. The tube itself is double ended with the base mascara in tube 1 and the fibers in tube 2, both of the brushes are also shaped differently with tube 1 containing a more curvy brush and tube 2 containing a slightly straighter curved brush.
Application
Upon application it is advised to use tube 1 which is the primer or base mascara first. This for me added amazing length and definition before I'd even applied the fibers. Next you apply the fibers from tube 2, which was a little tricky initially as you have to work quickly while the mascara is still wet. It's also advised for best results that you press the fibers from brush 2 onto the lashes rather than brushing them through. Overall I absolutely loved the final result as my lashes looked lengthened and fluttery, just like the effect individual lashes would give.
Lastly on the topic of application, I did want to offer you some tips when applying this mascara as I do think this takes a bit of practise and patience.

Tip 1 - Allow time to apply this mascara as it does take a little longer to apply.
Tip 2 - Look down into a mirror when applying this, as it will help prevent the fibers from accidently getting into your eyes. (I've made that mistake before!)
Tip 3 - Practise makes perfect. Because of the nature of the two step system and the fact you have to work efficiently it can be fiddly to hold the wand and work quickly, so just take some time in figuring out what works for you.
Tip 4 - Do one eye completely then move onto the other, that way you prevent the mascara from drying on your lashes to quickly before you apply the fibers.
Tip 5 - I recommend doing the two step process twice to get the best results.
Longevity
Longevity wise this lasted relatively well. My lashes still looked lengthened and defined by the end of the day, although I did have a tiny bit of fall out under my eyes and a little transfer on my brow bone, but on the whole this lasted pretty good.

Overall Thoughts
This for me was one those WOW mascara's! I absolutely loved how lengthened, defined and voluminous my lashes looked, despite this being a bit of a tricky mascara to master initially. Yes ok this is at the top end of the scale, price wise for a drugstore mascara, but taking into the consideration the uniqueness of this I think the price it's certainly justified. So if you love a false lash effect but you hate the thought of applying false lashes, then I definitely recommend following my tips and giving this a whirl!

I award the L'Oreal False Lashe Effect Superstar X Fiber Mascara 4 out of 5

The Five Best Drugstore Products Worth Buying From Seventeen

Seventeen Makeup
Seventeen make-up is a brand I've used ever since I can remember, it's also a brand that I think is not talked about as much as it should be. So today I wanted to share with you my top 5 ultimate favourites from this wonderfully affordable drugstore brand.
1. Seventeen WOW Concealer - If you're in search of the perfect YSL Touche Éclat dupe, then this is certainly the one for you! This really is a steal at only £4.99, plus it comes in two shades. I use the light to highlight under my eyes and the medium to conceal.

2. Seventeen Cheek Stamp Blush in Stare-Struck - These cheek stamp blushers are not only adorable but they have a mirror, applicator and they come in a great array of colours too. My favourite is Stare-Struck as it's a great wearable everyday shade that compliments a multitude of looks.

3. Seventeen Falsifeye Mascara - If you haven't heard of the Falsifye, where have you been! This mascara has the perfect brush that lengthens, defines and separates, it also gives you killer lashes without the need for falsies.

4. Seventeen Easy on the Eye Palette in Birthday Suit - I love this palette as it has a great selection of colours including three cream shadows, a primer, and a handy double ended brush, it's also reminds me of the cult Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I absolutely adore this palette as the pigmentation is beautiful and as a whole it's wonderfully compact and travel friendly.

5. Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit - This compact brow kit honestly has everything you would ever need to groom your brows with, it also has become my favourite travel companion too. Included is a brow powder, nude shadow, tinted wax, a brow pencil, mini brush and a mirror!

Primark PS Work Out Make-Up Review & Photos

PS... Work Out Makeup
Yes Primark are back at it again with a new addition to their make-up line. This time we're talking about Work Out Make-up that is designed to be both sweat proof and water resistant. It's also, as the name suggests perfect for you to wear to the gym if you're not brave enough to step out bare faced.

Now being an avid gym bunny and running enthusiast myself I thought it was only appropriate I put this make-up line to the test, so here's my thoughts...
Price
The collection is made up of face, eye and lip products that are of course, budget friendly and widely accessible. I picked up a Face Powder, Eye Liner Pencil and Mascara, but here's the full list of products available within stores,
- PS... NO SWEAT, Sweat Resistant Mattifying Face Powder in Ivory £2.50
- PS...  Finish Line Water Resistant Eye Liner in Black £1.50
- PS... Splash Proof Waterproof Mascara in Black £2
- PS... Lightweight Foundation Stick £2.50
- PS... Lip Fix Matte Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Cheerleader £2
- PS... Shape Up Lip Liner in Cheerleader £1
No Sweat Seat Resistant Mattifying Face Powder
Finish Line Water Resistant Eye Liner
Splash Proof Waterproof Mascara
Packaging
I absolutely loved the eye-catching names and chic, black packaging, and actually this is what initially sold this to me, when I first caught sight of it.
No Sweat, Sweat Resistant Mattifying Face Powder - Despite this coming in only two shades, the compact is a decent size with a handy mirror too.
Finish Line Water Resistant Eye Liner - I loved the look of this pencil as it also came with a handy pencil sharpener on the other end.
Splash Proof Waterproof Mascara - This mascara came in a tube which I did quite like, as it was a little more unqiue compared to your regular drugstore mascara. The brush itself was slightly chunky and curved, but in all honesty this for me looked like a very synthetic, cheap looking wand.
Application
No Sweat, Sweat Resistant Mattifying Face Powder - I applied this down my T-Zone and under my eyes to set my concealer. Upon application this wasn't the perfect colour match but it did appear mattifying as the name suggested.
Finish Line Water Resistant Eye Liner - For me this looked as though is was going to be a super pigmented black liner, but unfortunately this didn't give off much colour at all and I would say it was more of a grey than a black. Upon application this didn't glide on the best and it was actually quite uncomfortable when I used it on the waterline.
Splash Proof Waterproof Mascara - Despite the brush looking cheap, I actually found this to be an ok mascara. I curled my lashes initially and then applied two coats on the top and one to the bottom. The overall result was not bad and the wand did help lengthen and separate my lashes too.

Before and After my Run.
Longevity
To put these products to the ultimate test, I went for an hour long run. When I got back again everything was still on which was good, although the powder had oxidised on my cheeks and around my nose and I was left with a bit of a weird line.
The liner and mascara actually held up quite well with only the liner disappearing slightly from the waterline.
Overall Thoughts
Overall this wasn't the best line of products from Primark and considering the price points I wasn't expecting these to be anyway. However I did love the concept of this as a whole and Primark really do continue to impress me with how quick they are at picking up and re-producing some of the hottest trends, at affordable prices. So if I was you I would save your money on this one and spend it on any of the other fantastic products this pretty amazing shop has to offer.

I award the No Sweat Powder a 2 out of 5, the Finish Line Eye Pencil a 2 out of 5 and the Splash Proof Mascara a 3 out of 5.

How to De-Clutter & Organise Your Wardrobe in 3 Easy Steps

How to Organise Your Wardrobe
Clearing out is defiantly one of my favourite past times and it's also something I love to do especially at the start of a new year, as it helps me feel motivated, satisfied and refreshed. So today I wanted to share with you how I de-clutter and organise my wardrobe in three easy steps and also how I use storage efficiently and effectively in small spaces.
1. DE-CLUTTERING
Ok, so let's start with the all important de-clutter... I would suggest freeing up an afternoon to dedicate to the job, slip into something comfy, make yourself a tea and put on your focusing head!

Now the best way I find to be able to de-clutter and sort out efficiently, is to get everything out on the bed so you can see exactly what you have and plus it's also a great way to re-discover what's been lurking at the back of that wardrobe too!
2. SORTING
Next it's time to get down to the sorting and one method I've used for years now is the keep, not sure and throw approach. This is such a simple but effective way of de-cluttering and being honest with yourself in the process.

All you need to do is get three large pieces of paper and simply write TO KEEP, NOT SURE and TO THROW, then place them on the bed so you can start dividing your clothes into each of the three sections.

Finally re-visit your NOT SURE pile and simply ask yourself two questions...
1. Does it fit anymore?
2. Have I worn it in the last six months?
If the answer is no to either, then it's time to get rid of it and this really is the time where you have to be strong willed and honest with yourself, otherwise you'll end up never getting rid of anything!

I also like to give my clothes to charity if they're in a good condition.
3. ORGANISING
Lastly it's time to get everything back in after you've had a quick wipe down and polish...

Now as I mentioned in the video above, I have very minimal space to store clothes and the closet that I share with my husband is actually located outside of the bedroom in a small slanted cupboard. When we first moved in, this was actually empty, but with the help of my father in law we converted the small area into a proper working wardrobe with plenty of room for hanging clothes, as well as storing shoes and accessories. I also store my current season clothes on a fashion rack too as it's a great way to see exactly what you have and plus it helps make planning out outfits a lot easier.

Storage wise I use the Ikea Skubb Shoe Boxes, Compartment Box and Dividers to neatly tidy away shoes, scarfs, hats and gloves on the floor of the wardrobe and in an Ikea Malm Chest of Draws located in the bedroom.

To hang clothes I love using a mix of flocked velvet and metal hangers that all come from good old, fail safe Primark and for me this just helps make everything look more neat and organised.

Finally I wanted to share one final tip that my mother in law gave me and that is, every time you wear an item of clothing, when you place it back in your wardrobe make sure you turn the hanger the other way, that way you know what you've worn and what you haven't six months down the line.

Happy Organising!

Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit Review and Photo's - Kylie Jenner Lip Kit Dupes

Revolution Matte Lip Kits
With the phenomena of the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit's, it's about time there was a great dupe for these at a fraction of the price. Luckily I may have found just the thing for all you UK girls eager to see what all the fuss is about... Step forward the Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kits!
Price
These retail for £6 each and are available from Superdrug and tambeauty.com. Each kit contains a Liquid Lipstick and Lip Pencil.
There are five kits to choose from but at the moment there is currently four available which include,
Regal - A red/orange which is very similar to Kylie's 22.
Reign - A nude/pink that looks just like Candy K.
Grandee - A muted pink which is a great dupe for Koko K.
Glory - A deep chocolate brown that's totally comparable to True Brown K.

UPDATE: The Retro Matte Lip Kits have now been officially released and can be found on the TAM Beauty Website. There are 8 shades to choose from - https://www.tambeauty.com/SearchResults.aspx?Search=retro+luxe&SortBy=NewestDesc

Packaging
I absolutely love the packaging as it's striking, current and clear. I also think the lip liner and liquid lipstick has slightly nicer more premium looking packaging compared to the Kylie kit.
Revolution Matte Lip Kit in Glory
Revolution Matte Lip Kit in Reign
Revolution Matte Lip Kit in Grandee
Application
I tested out Reign which is a pink/nude. Upon application, the lip liner glided on like butter and was so easy to work with. This did come off a bit brighter in person, but it was still a beautiful shade that could be worn alone too. The lipstick was intensely pigmented, creamy and again glided on with ease. The overall finish was super matte and my lips even looked plumper and fuller as well.
Wearing Reign
Wearing Glory
Longevity
I had Reign on for a solid 9 hours and this honestly didn't budge through eating or drinking. I even had a job to take it off at the end of the night and so I would recommend using an oily make-up remover to break down the product easily.

The only thing I found with these were because they are super matte they felt slightly tacky on the lips and towards the end of the day, the shade I had on did feel a bit uncomfortable.
Overall Thoughts
These honestly are such amazing dupes for the Kylie Lip Kits, if maybe you're looking for something more affordable and you don't fancy paying the shipping as well for the Kylie versions. The packaging is gorgeous and the colour selection so far has something for everyone, plus these are a dream to apply thanks to their amazingly buttery consistencies.

Now although these did feel quite uncomfortable towards the end of the night, I do think overall these are intensely pigmented, long-wearing and perfect if you're a fan of the fuller, matte pout.

I award the Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kits 3.9 out of 5
